Nigerian firms major winners as brands compete

Dangote finJOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – DANGOTE Holdings has won one of the most prized accolades while Zenith Bank scooped two awards at the just-ended Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands.

Nigerian firm, Dangote, founded and led by the richest man in the continent, Aliko Dangote, won one of the major accolades on offer at the event held in Johannesburg after it was named the Brand Builder of the Year.

This is in recognition of another successful year for the Dangote empire increase its investment portfolio.

Zenith Bank, headquartered in Lagos but with a footprint in the region, scooped the Most Admired brand (Financial Services) and Most Valuable Brand in the sector.

Meanwhile, another firm with operations in Africa’s biggest economy, GLO, was awarded the Most Admired Brand in West Africa.

The Brand Africa 100 is said to be the most comprehensive pan-African survey, valuation, ranking and celebration of the best African and non-African brands in Africa.

More than 6 000 respondents around the continent were surveyed for the accolades
