DURBAN, (CAJ News) – MEMBERS of the public in Wentworth, KwaZulu-Natal Province have assisted police arrest a 23-year-old man for murder.
The murder occurred on Sunday when the unnamed suspect stabbed Jimmy Sikhakhane (24) several times.
The victim was rushed to hospital where he later died.
The suspect fled the scene after the stabbing.
Community members alerted the police and the members spotted the suspect running away from the scene. He was caught and arrested for murder.
Provincial Commissioner of KwaZulu-Natal, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni, commended the members of Wentworth for immediate arresting of the suspects.
“Detective members will work closely with Justice Department to make sure that the suspect is convicted and sentenced accordingly if found guilty,” she said.
