New managerial appointments at Gauteng Guardian

JOHANNESBURG – GAUTENG province’s leading weekly commercial newspaper, Gauteng Guardian, www.gautengguardian.co.za, has appointed enterprising journalist Ntokozo Nkabinde as its new Bureau Chief for Pretoria.

The versatile Nkabinde will replace veteran journalist, Simba Rushwaya, who will assume the new role as the paper’s News Editor in Johannesburg.
Rushwaya worked for various local and international media houses comprising NewsDay and Daily News in Zimbabwe where he was the Group Sports Editor for Alpha Media Holdings (AMH).
Both appointments are with immediate effect.
Nkabinde expressed excitement at joining the publication.
“Joining Gauteng Guardian is an absolute pleasure because it’s like the new kid in the block with lots of exciting opportunities and a unique vision,” she said.
She is elated to be resuming her duties in the capital city.
“Everything happens in Pretoria! The presidential residence is in Pretoria, national government departments’ head offices, all world embassies, corporate world, top universities, sports and business in general. I must acknowledge that I am very humbled by this opportunity and will do my utmost best to be objective and deliver the most accurate articles to my beautiful city,” she said.
Nkabinde boasts experience from national publications such as Daily Sun, The Citizen, Move magazine, Drum Magazine, The Politician and recently, TeamTalk Media /Football411.
Gauteng Guardian Editor, Ms Naledi Modise, said she was confident both Rushwaya and Nkabinde would add value to the company in their new roles.
“Ms Nkabinde will bring greater depth of news, business, entertainment and sports in Pretoria. I believe she will be a great asset to the company as her hard work has proved itself over the years. I wish her well,” said Modise.
Centre for African Journalists (CAJ News Africa) Chief Executive Officer and Publisher for Gauteng Guardian, Savious-Parker Kwinika confirmed the appointments.
Gauteng Guardian is the entity of Johannesburg-based CAJ News Africa.
“I’m excited to announce the appointment of dynamic and versatile journalist Ntokozo, who joins Gauteng Guardian as our Bureau Chief for Pretoria (Tshwane),” said Kwinika
“The appointment is effectively 1st April. I have no doubt, Nkotozo will execute her required duties, among them, administering the Tshwane news diary, business development, managing government and diplomatic relations with the corporate world, diplomatic missions, government departments and political parties,” said an elated Kwinika.
Gauteng Guardian is distributed and marketed at CNA, Exclusive Bookshops, Pick & Pay, Spar and KwikSpar throughout Gauteng province.
