JOHANNESBURG- ENTERPRISE application software company, SAP, has hosted an Africa Forum in Ghana to help local businesses embrace the digital economy.

The first of its kind, the event has been held in the capital, Accra, sponsored by Rhema Systems, which -in strategic partnership with Novabase in Portugal – have set their sights on becoming the leading SAP solutions reseller in Ghana and West Africa.

More than 60 delegates, comprising of customers, potential customers and SAP Africa Ecosystem partners, attended.
Kudzai Danha, Managing Director of SAP West Africa and Forum keynote speaker, said compelling market forces and breakthrough technologies had given rise to a powerful digital economy.

To be competitive in this environment, businesses need to reimagine traditional practices for a new world of digital business.

In today’s complex world, simplicity is key for business to innovate, grow and win, Dhana commented.

“Gone are the days of expensive IT infrastructure and complicated technology. It’s time to go back to basics and enjoy easier, simpler experiences – both outside and inside of the office.”

Re-affirming its commitment to the West African Market as both strategic and innovative, the SAP Africa Forum showcased how companies could unleash the power of digital innovation while finding a balance between
maintaining their current infrastructure and innovating without disruption.

A key attraction at the Forum was demos on the latest SAP technologies, including the SAP Digital Boardroom built on SAP BusinessObjects Cloud.

According to SAP, despite the economic impact of challenging commodity and oil prices, Ghanaian businesses are ready to seize the opportunities in the digital economy.

Ghana’s real gross domestic product (GDP) growth is projected to rebound to 5,2 percent in 2016 from 3,4 in 2015, according to the World Bank.
