JOHANNESBURG – CENTRE for African Journalists (CAJ) News Africa, the pan-African news agency, has announced the appointment of Themba Ndlovu as Group Head of Advertising and Marketing.

The appointment takes immediate effect.

In his position, Ndlovu will spearhead digital sales, marketing and advertising mainly in East, Southern and West Africa.

CAJ News Africa Chief Executive, Savious-Parker Kwinika, expresses excitement at the appointment.

“What makes CAJ News Africa thrilled by this appointment is that Ndlovu is young, qualified, dynamic and versatile with events. Most importantly, he embraces our vision of being the news service of choice for Africa,” says Kwinika.

He says Ndlovu will add value to the brand which presently boasts a presence in 27 African countries with correspondents in 44 countries overall.

The company has international correspondents in Moscow (Russia), Beijing (China), New Delhi (India) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

Ndlovu is thrilled to be on board.

“I am humbled and pleased to have been given such an opportunity to grow in my career as an advertising, marketing and communications executive, and believe this is just the beginning, more is yet to come.

“I also would like to thank the CEO and Editor-In-Chief of the African Press Association for believing in me and entrusting me with such an enormous and fulfilling responsibility to grow and strengthen the brand,” said Ndlovu.

Ndlovu’s business versatility and career is traced at Alex FM Radio where he was the only youngest board member and chairperson of the marketing committee for the Alexandra Broadcasting Trust trading as Alex FM and re-engineered the 21 year old Radio Station in 2005 to 2009.

In 2010 – 2012 he co-founded and headed as a Marketing and Communications Executive, the only 100 percent black and youth owned community newspaper in Alexandra, The Greater Alex Today.

He has previously been Media and Communications Manager for the South African Football Players Union’s (SAFPU’s) Show Me Your Number Campaign.

Ndlovu is currently studying towards completing his Bcom Degree in Financial Management with University of South Africa (UNISA), and is also pursuing other training programmes in E-Marketing, International Marketing and Sales.
