JOHANNESBURG – IF nominations are anything to go by, the eagerly-anticipated AfricaCom Awards will be a two-horse race between Orange and Huawei.
The French multinational telecommunications corporation and Chinese multinational networking and telecommunications firm, are the most nominated companies for the awards that will be among the highlights of AfricaCom, scheduled for Cape Town, South Africa between November 14 and 17.
They have a significant footprint in the continent.
Orange leads with nine nominations and Huawei have seven.
The AfricaCom Awards celebrate and pay tribute to the industry initiatives that improve connectivity and digital transformation across the continent.
They are rated as the most prestigious awards in the continent’s technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector.
