JOHANNESBURG – AFRICAN Press Association (APA) has announced the launch of Pan-Africa’s first international online news website.

The launch of African Post, www.africanpost.co.za, paves way for the official launch of the Pan-African international weekly newspaper in December.

Set to become the largest newspaper in the continent, it will distribute in 18 African countries.

APA, the continent’s largest press release distribution platform, wholly owns the publication and other titles.

APA and Centre for African Journalists (CAJ) News Africa Chief Executive, Savious-Parker Kwinika, made the announcement on Friday at posh Melrose Arch in Johannesburg, South Africa.

“We have started with the online, but very soon, precisely, before end of this year, will be launching the largest Pan African weekly newspaper,” said Kwinika.

“This historic continental newspaper reaches Africa’s key regional destinations with the sole purpose to unlock economic opportunities, promoting trade, innovation, culture, education and unity among people in the continent,” said Kwinika.

He said the publication seeks to promote democratic values too.

The forthcoming Pan African international weekly will provide widest coverage on all news beats including Agriculture, Aviation, Energy, Environment, Entertainment, Finance, Health, Infrastructure, Insurance, Mining, Mobile & Telecommunications, Religion, Technology, Tourism and Sports.

Printed and distributed by reputable companies, the weekly is 100-percent black-owned and covers East, North, Southern and West Africa regional blocs.

Locally (South Africa), the leading Pan African weekly will be distributing in all nine provinces of the country, comprising Eastern
Cape, Free State, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, North West and Western Cape.

African Post will also be available in Botswana, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Commenting on the online launch and the upcoming newspaper, African Press Association (APA) Group Head of Advertising and Marketing, Themba Ndlovu, said the new continental online was unique publication in terms of its content focusing on innovation, entrepreneurship and service delivery.

“I believe African Post is no doubt the biggest weekly newspaper for the continent, and will ensure that we become the most preferred international Pan African weekly newspaper throughout the continent.

“Most interestingly, we have Unique Selling Points (USP) with both business and marketing approach, which will set us apart from the rest in the industry and all African markets. I am excited and cannot wait for the African continent to access the best weekly newspaper,” said Ndlovu.

Also commenting, APA and CAJ News Africa’s Head of African News, Mthulisi Sibanda, said, “Our company takes pride in setting journalism standards for Africa.”

He added, “The African Post will help enhance our motto of covering Africa, for Africa by Africans.”

Kwinika was upbeat the publication will make a huge impact on the market.

“I always put our trust in the Almighty Jehovah God. Only through Him, are all things possible,” an excited Kwinika said.
