JOHANNESBURG – BT, the telecommunications company, has appointed Kevin Hardy as Managing Director for Africa with immediate effect.
He moves from his role as Head of Sales.
Hardy replaces Oliver Fortuin, who will leave the business in February 2017.
Kevin Taylor, BT President for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, says the company has made huge progress over the last few years in developing its business in
the Africa but there is still much more that BT can do to help the digital transformation ambition of the region.
“Kevin Hardy’s strong leadership and proven years of success will be a great asset
to the continuing growth of our African business. I’d also like to thank Oliver Fortuin for his contribution to our business during his time,” adds Taylor.
BT has over 20 years’ experience in Africa, with connectivity coverage in 43 countries.
It runs three regional offices and network Points of Presence (PoP’s) in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban in South Africa.
It also manages a network and customer support service centre in Durban and Cape Town, that services 32 countries across the Middle East and African.
