JOHANNESBURG – HOST nation Chile and South Africa are set to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at an international industry event scheduled for next month.
The 2017 Investing in LatAm Mining Cumbre will be held in the capital Santiago on July 11 and 12.
The MoU is in line with the event’s determination to serve as a platform for strengthening intercontinental relationships between Africa and Latin America.
Organisers said the pact between Chile and South Africa would serve as evidence of the mutual aims of the two countries to support and facilitate the development of their mining sectors.
“It symbolises the common wish for both Chile and South Africa to build stronger relationships between the mining authorities of the two countries.”
Mining Cumbre is to serve as the first event to unite Latin American mining ministers, companies and the international investment community.
The high-profile dialogue is anticipated to boost the development of the Latin Americas emerging mining sector and stimulate investment.
