JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – REIGNING African Player of the Year,Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Player of the Year – Based in Africa, Dennis Onyango, are again nominated for the awards.
Ugandan goalkeeper Onyango is nominated for both accolades alongside teammate Percy Tau at South African side Mamelodi Sundowns and Zambian Fackson Kapumbu.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed the list of nominees on Wednesday.
Thirty players each have been nominated for the two topmost categories.
The awards gala will be held on January 4 in Accra, Ghana. Nigerian energy giants, Aiteo, are the headline sponsors of next year’s edition.
Votes from the Head Coaches/Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to CAF, members of the CAF Technical and Development Committee and a panel of media experts will decide the winner.
