JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – KASPERSKY Lab, the global cybersecurity company, has appointed Amir Kanaan as Managing Director for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region.
He has stepped down from his role role of General Manager for the Middle East and succeeds Maxim Frolov, who was recently promoted to Vice President of Global Sales at Kaspersky Lab.
In his new role, which was effective immediately, Kanaan will continue to strategically promote the company’s vision of spreading cybersecurity awareness on a national level across the META.
“Being part of a region that is known to be one of the earliest adopters of new technology is exciting because this fast-paced transition makes the focus on cybersecurity essential,” he said.
Earlier this year, Kaspersky Lab announced an 8 percent year-on-year growth globally for 2017.
The company’s performance was driven by strong results in the regions, in particular, the META region showing a 31 percent growth in bookings in 2017.
“Together with our partners we will be constantly helping individuals and organisations to stay safe from the dangers of the cyberworld,” Kanaan added.
