JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THINGSTREAM, the global networks provider that recently entered the South African market, has appointed seasoned executive, Philipp Bolliger, as chief executive officer (CEO).
Bolliger is tasked with growing the business internationally and extending applications of the platform to more industries.
An experienced CEO in the Internet of Things (IoT) industry, Bolliger is seen as well-placed to spearhead Thingstream’s ambitious plans for the rest of 2018 and beyond.
His appointment builds on the impressive growth the company has generated since its inception last year.
“Thingstream has impressively demonstrated over the last year or so that they have a unique, global IoT solution that enables the majority of businesses to develop into this space for the first time,” Bolliger said.
He expressed excitement at assuming his new role.
“IoT is an area I’m both experienced in and passionate about, so this really is a perfect role. I’m honoured to have the opportunity to lead Thingstream through its next chapter of growth and I can’t wait to work closely with the outstanding team we have built.”
Bolliger previously held roles at Husqvarna Group and founded smart garden start-up Koubachi in 2009, pioneering the field of smart objects for plants before the company was acquired by Husqvarna in 2015.
Bolliger will be joining the Thingstream team at this year’s IoT Solutions World Congress in Barcelona on October 16-18.
