JOHANNESBURG – THE newest BlackBerry smartphone – the BlackBerry KEY2 LE- is set to be available in South Africa on Monday (today).
TCL Communication, the Hong Kong-incorporated smartphone manufacturer and BlackBerry-branded licensing partner, confirmed the introduction of the handset.
The gadget runs Android™ operating system (8.1/Oreo).
It features a dual rear camera (13MP+5MP).
The BlackBerry KEY2 LE is both thinner and lighter, and boasts a
redesigned keyboard with keys that are nearly 10 percent larger than those featured on the BlackBerry KEYone.
It comes with 4GB of memory and in both 32GB and 64GB storage variants.
“Today’s smartphones try to offer a one size fits all solution, but that
is no longer realistic when we have a global marketplace as diverse as we have today,” said Alain Lejeune,Senior Vice President, TCL Communication and President, BlackBerry Mobile.
The smartphone was launched globally in June.
It is available at Vodacom, starting at R429 per month x 24 – On a Smart XS+ package.
