Chief Executive Officer, Johan Borstlap.JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – SKYWISE Airline is aware of the daunting task of regaining the confidence of stakeholders in the wake of the wake of the turbulence the career has suffered in recent weeks.

On Thursday, the low-coast carrier confirmed at the meeting with the Air Services Licensing Council, the Council expressed support for the airline and noted that the flight operations department of the airline received an endorsement from the Civil Aviation Authority during a recent audit.

Nonetheless, the council expressed concern for the passengers that had booked with the airline and asked that the management of Skywise address the issues and restart services as soon as possible. This cleared the way for Skywise to get its house in order and to report back to the council on developments.

This is positive news for the company following the suspension of airport services to the airline by Airports Company South Africa  for outstanding arrears.“We are thankful to the ASL for their support in this difficult time,” said Chief Executive Officer, Johan Borstlap.

While the suspension presented financial challenges, it will be an arduous task retaining consumers’ confidence.“Unfortunately, the recent suspension by ACSA has caused serious financial complications for the airline and harmed the airlines reputation. It will take a lot of hard work and sacrifice to return customer and investor confidence,” Borstlap continued.

Skywise was gradually gaining this trust of the travelling public and load factors increased continuously from 50 percent to 75 percent.Skywise is currently discussing various options to refinance the airline and the success of this venture will largely determine when services would resume.

A definite date has therefore not been announced yet but an announcement in this regard was said to follow shortly.Officials assured cash paying passengers would be refunded at a date to be advised.Passengers who paid by credit card have been advised to continue getting their refunds through the banks.“We apologise to our passengers for this unfortunate event and we hope to make it up to you again in the future,” the airline said.
