CHIEFS VS DOWNSJOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – KAIZER Chiefs will be looking to live up to their tag as cup specialists while Mamelodi Sundowns are eager to end a poor run against their rival when the two teams contests the Telkom
Knockout final on Wednesday evening.

The match is scheduled for the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Province.

Kaizer Chiefs striker, Bernard Parker, said the team was upbeat ahead of the decider against a side they have beaten in all cup finals in the Premier Soccer League era.

“We are the favourites to win the Telkom Knockout final because we are cup specialists. (However) there is much more pressure after losing the MTN8 final (against Ajax Cape Town),” said Parker.

After a poor start to the 2015/16 season Sundowns are enjoying a fine run, which has left them second on the 16-team Absa Premiership table.

It is this form that midfielder-cum-striker Khama Billiat believes the team will translate into the cup final.

“This is a big game. We need to be on top of our game. When we are on form, there is no team that can stop us. We have to keep the momentum. We have going forward on attack and take that into the final,” said Billiat.

Sundowns and Chiefs have faced each other in eight cup finals, with the former losing all.
