JOHANNESBURG – ORIENTAL music lovers can expect an evening of melodies of love, romance, happiness and sadness when the Neeraj Beharie performs in Johannesburg over the weekend.

The talented entertainer will perform great film songs by the legendary Bollywood film singer, Mohammed Rafi, in an event titled an Evening of Rafi with Neeraj on Saturday, 27th February.

The Gold Reef City will host the historic event.

Beharie will together with the finest of the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, recreate, in semi-classical style, Rafi’s songs.

Neeraj is a classically-trained scholar in the northern system of Indian classical music, under his guru, Sri Monali Shome.

He has received two accreditations in vocal classical music from the Pracheen Kala Kendra, University of Chandigarh, India.

With his unique voice, versatility and romantic charm, he will take audiences down memory lane with the greatest golden film hits.

“We are excited to host a night of fusion where eastern melodies meet western harmonies in An Evening of Rafi with Neeraj at The Lyric.

Rafi (1924 –1980) was an Indian playback singer and one of the most popular singers of the Hindi film industry.

The show starts at 19h00.
