TukuJOHANNESBURG  – ZIMBABWE music heavyweights, Oliver Mtukudzi and Leonard Zhakata, will next month share the stage with Urban Grooves sensation, Nox Guni, in an eagerly-anticipated show scheduled for Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

Hordes of Zimbabwean nationals in the neighbouring country are set to  throng the event set for May 27 at the Lillian Ngoyi Centre in the coastal  city.

Mtukudzi, who is making a return to Port Elizabeth having performed two  years ago, will be the main crowd puller owing to his huge fan base among  Zimbabweans and other nationals.

Zhakata, a legend in his own right, felt honoured to perform alongside Samanyanga, as the popular musician is also known.

“I know he is a crowd puller and a crowd favourite wherever he goes. Imagine how much I have to prove to be worthy the combination,” said  Zhakata.

Zhakata’s career has suffered mixed fortunes-from the 1990s when he shot  to stardom with his debut, Maruva Enyika, to recent years when his music  was blacklisted from Zimbabwe’s airwaves.

“People have been greatly misinformed and written me down and out. However, however all they need is to come to the show. Zimbabweans  resident in South Africa as well locals must come to witness, enjoy
Zimbabwean music talent at its best,” said Zhakata.

The King of Zora Music is set to launch a new album in June and will  sample some from the offering during the concert.

Guni meanwhile is fresh from his tour of China.

He is set to excite with such hits as Ndinonyara, Kupenga kuti Pe, Iwe Maria, and Zvandadiwa among others.
