Monks make a comeback

FOLLOWING their globally acclaimed Wheel of Life and Kung Fu Masters tours, Shaolin Monk is set to perform at The Teatro, at Montecasino in Joburg’s Fourways.
The new show, which is called SHAOLIN, will feature 20 SHAOLIN monks who will showcase their martial arts expertise in an awe-inspiring performance.
The performance, runs for two-weeks, from June 28 to July 10.
SHAOLIN is the ultimate display of theatre and physical prowess, combining traditional Shaolin Kung Fu with dramatic lighting and sound that evokes the spirit of their traditions in one “breathtaking performance.”
According to show organisers, the 20 -member cast performs incredible “superhuman” feats.
“The show will take audiences on an intrepid journey through the mystical history of this ancient martial art and demonstrate the beautiful movements of Chi Gong & Tai Chi with spectacular weapons and combat demonstrations,” say show organisers.
The Shaolin Temple is the birthplace of Kung Fu.
The performance starts at 8pm and tickets are available from R285 to R565 at Computicket
