JOHANNESBURG – THREE youngsters have secured a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sharpen their football skills in Europe thanks to an initiative by the Spanish Premier League and the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation.

The trio- Charlton Jade, Philani Kunene and Prince Moeketsi- have been selected from 10 000 hopefuls in the Future Players Talent Search whose finals have been held at the Union Stadium in Newlands, Johannesburg.

Some 100 players from around Gauteng got a final shot at showcasing their skills with three emerging tops.

Jade, Kunene and Moeketsi will be travelling to Spain in October where they will visit academies and spend time with top coaches at some of the biggest clubs in the world, courtesy of LaLiga.

Olympic Games-bound Banyana Banyana star, Refiloe Jane, congratulated the players.

She is a previous winner of the Future Players Gauteng Talent Search.

“This a sign that the leap from the Future Players Gauteng Talent Search to the world stage can be bridged,” organizers said.
