JOHANNESBURG – THE long wait is over.
Voters have started casting their ballot papers in this year’s Municipal elections with a record of 719 222 special voters expected to go to the
polls today and tomorrow.
According to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) a record 63,9m ballots were printed for the watershed elections scheduled for Wednesday
and it is a year of records as there is also a “Record number of voters, parties, candidates and ballots” bringing the “biggest logistical
challenge yet” for IEC.
