JOHANNESBURG – The third edition of MultiChoice Diski Challenge will resume second week of September .

Premier Soccer League (PSL) has revealed the opening block of the PSL reserve league will be played on the weekend of 10 and 11 September 2016. All 16 clubs will be in action on the opening weekend .

Four of those matches will form part of the opening festival, which will take place at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, KwaZulu- Natal while the other four fixtures will be stand-alone matches. Lamontville Golden Arrows, Maritzburg United, Bloemfontein Celtic, Highlands Park, Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates will participate in the opening festival in Umlazi .

Defending champions, Lamontville Golden Arrows, bouyed by their eight-day European Tour as part of their prize for winning the second edition of the MultiChoice Diski Challenge, will battle it out with Bloemfontein Celtic in the opening fixture on Saturday.

Kick-off will be at 10h00.

This will immediately be followed by a clash between Gauteng giants Bidvest Wits and Kaizer Chiefs at 12h00. On Sunday, Maritzburg United will be looking to maintain the good form which saw them finish fourth in last season’s competition when they host newcomers Highlands Park at 10h00.

Mamelodi Sundowns, Runners-up in the first two MDC seasons, will square up against Orlando Pirates in the last match of the opening block of fixtures.

The PSL has also announced that the last block of MultiChoice Diski Challenge fixtures will kick-off simultaneously on Saturday, 25 February 2017. University of Pretoria and Golden Arrows are the previous champions of the last two editions respectively .
