REGIONAL leaders of the ANC Youth League disrupted a brief by members of the party who are advocating for President Jacob Zuma and
the party’s national executive committee to step down, in Pretoria on Friday afternoon.

ANCYL regional chairman Lesego Makhubela and his team stormed the hotel and told the organisers that they were not allowed to speak on
the party’s behalf without the ANC’s permission.

The organisers of ‘OccupyLuthuliHouse’ were planning to stage a demonstration next week at the party headquarters in Johannesburg,
calling for Zuma and the ANC NEC to resign with immediate effect.

They are also calling for the party’s stalwarts to organise a special congress by December.

The ANC has come under fire recently from its veterans who blame Zuma and the ANC NEC for the weak economy, worsening unemployment rate,
rampant corruption and the party’s recent loss to the opposition in key areas at the recently held August 3 , elections. Opposition
parties took over key metros such as Johannesburg, Tshwane, the Eastern Cape’s Nelson Mandela Bay and retained Cape Town.
