JOHANNESBURG – THE Member of the Executive Committee (MEC) on Education, Phanyaza Lesufi, will on Friday visit Badirile High School in Khutsong following the death of three pupils in incidents related to gangsterism.

The deaths have been blamed on a clash of groups of learners believed to be part of gangsterism in the community in the West Rand.

Widespread gang violence in the area has affected learning and teaching at the school.

Meanwhile, the MEC’s visit to Khutsong will be preceded by a Provincial Launch of the “Drop all and Read” campaignat Saxonwold Primary School.

This campaignis aimed at encouraging and improving the culture of reading both at school and community levels.
