JOHANNESBURG – PREMIERSHIP new boys, Baroka FC and Highlands Park, have a score to settle when they meet at the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa on Tuesday evening.

Kickoff is 19h30.

The match comes weeks after the two teams were involved in a boardroom squabble over a player, Richard Matloga, the winger who will mark an emotional return to action.

The player left Highlands to join Bakgaga under controversial circumstances as he was still contracted to the former.

The matter has been settled out of court.

Action now shifts onto the field with Highlands playing their first match in the Absa Premiership.

Previously, the two teams had taken their rivalry to the wire last season when Baroka pipped the Lions of North for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Sibonelo Ngidi , Highlands Park media officer, believes a thriller is on the cards.

“The fans can expect an exciting match because of the history of both teams from the National First Division last season where no one managed to get three points from the other. Also, the fact that Tembisa people were starved of PSL action for far too long adds to the electrifying atmosphere expected around the stadium,” says Ngidi.

He says the team is gelling well since the unveiling of new signings in July.

“We have played few friendly games and happy with the outcome.”

Among the new players are Collins Mbesuma, Franklin Cale and Mothobi Mvala.

Namibian defender Peter Shalulile is out with injury.

Baroka have already had a taste of top flight football after they drew one-all against Ajax Cape Town three weeks ago.
