JOHANNESBURG – THE deadline for the AppsAfrica.com Awards 2016 is fast approaching.

Entries for the continent-wide competition close on September 20.

The Wireless Application Service Providers’ Association (WASPA) is organizing the awards.

The Awards celebrate the enormous growth in mobile, technology and entrepreneurship in Africa.

The award categories are: Disruptive Innovation, Best Social & Messaging, Best African App, Enterprise Solution, News & Entertainment, Educational, Fintech, Social Impact, Brand on Mobile and the Women in Tech Awards.

The winner of which will be announced at an event in Cape Town on November 14.

WASPA represents the interests of some 350 value-added services providers, a large number of which provide mobile content and applications that can be accessed on smartphones and feature phones.

Last year’s awards attracted entries from 21 countries.
