JOHANNESBURG – Defending MTN 8 champions Bidvest Wits ‘s reserve team will return to Mpumalanga this weekend looking to consolidate their lead at the summit of the table .

The Kanyamazane Stadium in Mpumalanga will host this weekend’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge festival on Saturday and Sunday (08 and 09 October 2016).

This is the second MDC festival, otherwise known as PSL Reserve League, to be played at the Nelspruit venue.

Entrance to the stadium is once again free.

Tickets can be collected at all TicketPro outlets in the province, and can be found in Jet, CNA, Edgars and Samsung stores. Two tickets will be allocated per person for each match day on a first-come-first-served basis. On collection, each person will be required to produce a valid South African ID.

” It’s still early days in the season – only three rounds have been played – but there’s already a clear front runner in the form of Bidvest Wits. The Students have started like a house on fire, collecting maximum points in all their matches, including a 4-0 drubbing of Kaizer Chiefs, and are yet to concede a goal” , says the Premier Soccer League .

Not falling off the pace this early in the season will be the aim of the festival participants, Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Free State Stars, Platinum Stars, Baroka FC, Polokwane City and Chippa United.

Mamelodi Sundowns and Polokwane City, who finished second and third respectively in last season’s competition will get proceedings underway at 11h00 on Saturday followed immediately by a clash between Orlando Pirates and Chippa United at 13h00.

On Sunday morning Free State Stars play Platinum Stars at 11h00.

Limpopo outfit Baroka FC, playing in their first ever MDC host will host Soweto Giants Kaizer Chiefs in the last match of the festival at 13h00.

The festival weekend brings with it another opportunity for Diski Challenge fans to win a R5000 grocery voucher and be in line to win a trip to the Netherlands, accompanying the champions at the end of the season.
