JOHANNESBURG – LIMPOPO side, Baroka FC, are aiming for another double against a Premiership rival when they host Cape Town City in the quarterfinals of the Telkom Knockout on Saturday.

The two newcomers will battle at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. Kickoff is 15h00.

Having dislodged the visitors in the league a fortnight ago (2-1) in Cape Town,
Baroka will carry the favourites tag.

Should they defeat Cape Town City, it will be the second time they have beaten a side twice this season, having beaten Platinum Stars in the league (1-0 away at
Royal Bafokeng in Rustenburg) and in the Telkom Knockout (3-1 at the Peter Mokaba).

A dramatic two-all draw against in-form neighbours Polokwane City in the first Limpopo derby, could be the tonic Baroka needed ahead of the match as it indicated
the side is resolving its failure to score goals.

Ironically, the wins against Cape Town City and Platinum Stars are the only maximum points they have collected in a league they have blown hot and cold.

The two wins have been on the road suggesting the side cannot make the most of home advantage, hence they must guard against complacency against Cape Town City this
weekend. Baroka have not won at home, losing to Bidvest Wits (0-2), Chippa United (1-4) and drawn this past weekend against Polokwane.

The newcomers have eight points from a possible 21.

Midfielder Jacky Motshegwa believes the side is turning the corner.

“We are starting to score goals, which is a positive sign,” Motshegwa said.
