ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Army has rescued over 5 000 civilians during recent operations to rid the Northeast of the Boko Haram sect.
Troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole, Operation Karya Gwiwa and Operation Rescue Finale in such Kangarwa, Sambisa Forest and Yemteke.
Leo Irabor, Major General Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, said a total of 5 235 people were rescued.
Irabor said the killing and arrest of the terror group were indicative of a weakened and defeated sect.
“Their ignoble adventure is destined to fail totally.”
During the operations a total of 37 terrorists were killed while two officers and five soldiers were wounded in action.
Unfortunately, a member of the vigilante died during the offensive operation.
