JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE antenna technology and engineering company, EMSS, has re-launched as Alphawave following a group-wide rebranding and modernisation process.
Alphawave is the new holding company for several specialist tech companies that the EMSS Group had acquired or invested in over the past few years, as well as for some of the established engineering subsidiaries.
EMSS Group Chairman, Frans Meyer, said the rebrand came just as the group started to explore unique synergies between the specialised companies within its fold.
“Our group has always been built on an ability to solve difficult and significant engineering problems, and a keen entrepreneurial spirit, which has helped us earn a reputation of excellence over more than
20 years,” said Meyer.
EMSS has over 100 engineers, scientists and technicians working on some of the most interesting problems and challenges in the fields of sensor technology, internet of things (IoT), software and electronics.
“We’re also dabbling in virtual and augmented reality and other emerging technologies. With our new group brand and structure, we expect to fast-track the development of innovative new products and services for the South African and global market,” said Meyer.
EMSS was founded in 1994 as an antenna engineering company providing simulation software and services to international companies such as National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Boeing, and DaimlerChrysler.
It also secured commercial agreements from mobile network operators such as Vodacom and MTN to develop specialized electromagnetic services.
It has also been involved in the Square Kilometer Array (SKA) since 2005.
