JOHANNESBURG -Platinum Stars’ latest acquisition Riyaad Norodien is keen to do his part to help Dikwena pull out of the relegation zone.
Norodien, was signed on loan from Orlando Pirates on the final day of the January transfer window, trained with his new teammates on Friday morning. The midfielder says Dikwena can move away from the bottom of the Absa Premiership table.
“It’s a good move for me. My goal is to help the team and get game time under my belt. It’s also good for me to reflect on life. I have been in Joburg for a year and half. A new challenge brings new things for a player. I hope to do well for Platinum Stars and myself,” said Norodien.
“Everything looks good. The facilities here and the players are quality. It’s a matter of everyone coming together and say this is what we want – to get out of danger. There’s no use few wanting to come out and others not on it. We all need to come together and come out as one. We need to come out because at the end of the day the people of Rustenburg need Platinum Stars because it’s the only team from here that is in the PSL.”
Norodien is ready to knuckle down and compete for a place in Roger De Sa’s team.
“As a player, it’s important to keep your mind clean and work hard. It looks like a good squad and everybody is fighting for their place in the team. If we can all want the same things and move the team out of relegation. We are here to work and hopefully the table will turn and we move up,” said Norodien.
Norodien could make his debut when Dikwena take on Chippa United in an Absa Premiership fixture at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium this coming Sunday afternoon.
“It’s vital to get the three points especially that we are playing away. Chippa are a good team. We have to give our best so we get the points,” said Norodien .
