JOHANNESBURG  – CAPE Town City are eager for revenge while Supersport United are keen to secure a double over their rivals when the two sides again contest the final of the MTN 8 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday.

Supersport United defeated the Cape Town outfit 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at the same venue in the last year’s edition.

Coach Kaitano Tembo’s defending champions were in rampant form ahead of this weekend’s final after massacring Limpopo based Black Leopards 4-0 at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria on Sunday.

Zimbabwean marksman and ABSA premiership leading goal scorer Evans Rusike and English forward James Keene were unstoppable and will be Supersport’s hopes for the defence of their trophy.

Matsatsantsa a Pitori have midfield maestro Dean Furman and veteran Reneilwe Letsholonyane to bank on while defenders Onismor Bhasera, Bongani Khumalo, Clayton Daniels, Aubrey Modiba and Grant Kekana will provide cover to national team goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams.

Williams could be pivotal if the match again goes to penalties.

Cape Town City might not have won their last league match but showed pedigree as they came from two goals down to force a 2-2 draw at Orlando Pirates in Soweto.

Ayanda Patosi, who scored the double, will be key to the Citizens’ quest for the trophy.

There is also Matthew Rusike and Thabo Nodada while coach Benni McCarthy might hand Tokelo Rantie his debut.

Midfielders Roland Putsche, Amethyst Ralani, Riyaad Norodien and Teko Modise will be expected to create the chances.

Enterprising defenders- Thamsanqa Mkhize, Ebrahim Seedat and Edmilson Dove-will shield Dutch goalkeeper, Peter Leeuwenburgh, who has proven to be a dependable shot stopper in his debut season.

Tickets have been on sale at TicketPro outlets and Spar stores nationwide.
