MTN brings back Mahala Calls for prepaid subscribers

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, 15th OCTOBER 2018, African Press Association (APA) – From tomorrow, MTN will be bringing back Mahala Calls, as part of the MTN Zone offering – just in time for long summer days and holiday trips. MTN knows how important it is to stay in touch with loved ones and is always looking at ways to make this easier and more affordable for customers. MTN’s latest offering does just that.

Mahala Calls is a new recharge & get promotion for all MTN Zone customers both Prepaid and TopUp on the network. To get this offer, MTN Zone customers need to opt-in by dialing *175*0# and make a daily recharge of R10 or more to receive free minutes, up to 1 hour to make MTN to MTN calls. Customers can use the free minutes during the Mahala call hour in their current location.

MTN Zone is a prepaid per-second billing price plan that offers of up to 100% discounts on calls and SMSs. Discounts are driven by dynamic demand, which is determined by the caller’s location and the time of day. Through this offer, MTN will be providing its MTN Zone subscribers the added value of more voice minutes to use to call their loved ones.

How it works

If you are not an MTN Zone subscriber, you will first need to migrate to MTN Zone by dialling *136*4*2#
Opt-in to Mahala Calls by dialling *175*0#
Recharge with R10 or more
An SMS confirming your new balance and Mahala Calls minutes balance will be sent to you
You will also be notified at the beginning of the Mahala hour to make your free MTN-MTN calls
