JOHANNESBURG – AFROBEAT musician, Londiwe Ngubeni, has set her sights on conquering the music industry in Hong Kong and China.

Originally from South Africa and also known as Mslolo, one way she is doing it is by celebrating Afrobeat with her current single, “Rumba Rumbe.”

She has an incredible musical journey that started off in her hometown, as an enthusiastic singer from Durban who had her heart set to follow her dreams.

With the world becoming more aware of the need to start bridging the gap between culture and sharing information, Afrobeat has continued to introduce African rhythm in various parts of the world.

Mslolo arrived in Hong Kong in 2008 after being cast as the storyteller “Rafiki” for the Lion King Musical at the Hong Kong Disneyland.

She performed at the theme park for a period of eight years before pursuing other opportunities.

Her time as a local performer entrenched her interest in the Hong Kong Arts and Culture industry and offered an opportunity to create a multifaceted career as a local singer.

Mslolo is one of the most well-known African female singers that has become popular in the local clubs and private singing events across the country, as well as China.

As part of her career expansion, she has been able to break into the industry, broadening her offering to the acting and modeling industry.

Her most precious and personal project that officially launched her as an independent music artist was the launch of her ten-track album called “A Different Breed.”

Mslolo’s music has a unique and urban take to Afrobeat, with a fuse of Fuji beat, some high chanting vocals, a touch of her home language (Zulu), and singing in English.

The album introduces the Hong Kong community to a familiar beat of dance while keeping the roots of Afrobeat to create an urban sound.

Mslolo fuses this unique sound while providing a range of sing-along songs, as well as motivational messages for music lovers.

The album has been launched worldwide on all digital platforms with Rumba Rumbe being the most famous track.

Her next bold move was launching a music concert in 2021, called “Feel Africa with Mslolo.”

Above Mslolo focus on launching her music, she has been focused on other bigger goals and maintaining her name in the arts and culture industry.

She was also featured in the 2021 Fenty Beauty HK Eaze Drop shade 21 campaign and has been featured in local Hong Kong-produced movies.
