International acts set to light up local stages

JOHANNESBURG- LIONEL Ritchie, Mariah Carey and Roxette are some of the world-renowned music icons that will be gracing local stages in the coming months.

First on show at Ticketpro Dome will be Roxette whose XXX – The 30th Anniversary Tour will take the Swedish pop rock duo to the Northgate venue on January 31.

The group is back by popular demand following their performance at the same venue four years ago.

Consisting of Marie Fredriksson (vocals) and Per Gessle (vocals and guitar), Roxette have for three decades serenaded music lovers with such tracks as “The Look”, “Listen to Your Heart”, “It Must Have Been Love”, and “Joyride.”

All Night Long is synonymous with veteran Ritchie the multiple award-winning who like wine, is maturing with age.

The American crooner might be 66 but is showing no signs of slowing.

One of the world’s best selling artists of all time with more than 100 million albums sold worldwide, Ritchie will be on stage at the Ticketpro Dome on March 15.

The likeable artist has gained success both as a member of the Commodores and a solo act.

The All the Hits All Night Long Tour’s Johannesburg leg is sure to be a sold-out affair.

It was sold out in Europe.

Live Nation and Big Concerts have also announced Carey, said to be the best-selling female artist of all time, will be performing in South Africa for the very first time in 2016 with her Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour.

She needs no introduction to music lovers.

Carey will grace the Ticketpro Dome stage on May 1 and 2.

Also known by her passionate fans as Mimi the Voice or Songbird MC, she is simply a phenomenon and one of the greatest entertainers of all time.

She has sold over 220 million records and 17 of her 18 Billboard Hot 100 No.1 singles have been self-penned, including “Fantasy”, “Always Be My Baby”, “Hero”, “Touch My Body”, “One Sweet Day” and “We Belong Together.”

This New Yorker has topped the charts globally and has played to packed audiences in stadiums and arenas around the world.

Other international acts scheduled for the Ticketpro Dome include the legendary Rodrigues and Kevin Hart, said to be the funniest comedian in the world, as 2016 promises to be an exciting year for entertainment fanatics.
