CAPE TOWN – AFRICAN News Agency (ANA) has announced the appointment of Grant Fredericks as President and Chief Executive Officer.
His appointment is in line with the restructuring of ANA, which has
consolidated its position as the leading syndicated news service on the African continent.
Fredericks currently heads up the Group’s African Specialized Content Business Unit.
Chris Borain, who was a consultant to ANA since its inception in 2015, and most recently acted as the interim CEO, will be leaving the organisation.
“I wish to thank Chris for his contribution to the growth of ANA and wish him every success in the future,” Fredericks said.
Since its launch in March 2015, ANAs client base has grown to include the majority of South African media houses.
Iwith a representation in key African markets, it also enjoys partnership agreements with international media houses and is the official BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) news agency for South Africa.
As part of its global expansion, ANA has been bolstered by the inclusion of executives from the UK, US and the Middle East.
