JOHANNESBURG – THE continent’s premier news agency, Centre for African Journalists (CAJ) News Africa, has done it again!

The Johannesburg-based media house has been honoured by organizers of the Miss Africa for promoting unity, investment and trade while championing pan-Africanism, the ideals that organizers of the pageant are also committed to.

ProAct Communications Executive Director, Neo Mashishi, handed over the accolade to CAJ News Africa at the news agency’s headquarters in Bramley on Thursday.

ProAct organizes Miss Africa, whose objective, apart from promoting cohesion, is to empower young African women and afford them a platform to be recognized on a global stage.

“This award is in recognition of CAJ News Africa’s accurate reporting of Pan Africanism agenda. We, as Miss Africa, we acknowledge the job well done CAJ News Africa is doing throughout the continent. This is our Pan African news agency with the continent at heart,” said Mashishi after presenting the accolade.

Receiving the award, CAJ News Africa Chief Executive Officer, Savious-Parker Kwinika, expressed delight.

“The award has come as a huge surprise for CAJ News Africa. We feel humbled and humbled considering just last month (January 2017), we been voted the best Pan African news agency by Hope Africa, endorsed by the United Nations. We give glory to the only true living Jehovah God for His favour,” said Kwinika.

The award was received in the United States, for the second year running.

“This confirms the job we are doing is not going unnoticed. May I also take the opportunity to urge the corporate not doing business with us to consider clinching deals with the best news agency for Africa to ensure their visibility and viability.

“Any business in the continent that seeks growth requires close relations with vibrant media houses such as ours, which is driven by Africans for Africa,” said Kwinika.

The award comes ahead of the second Miss Africa, scheduled for Rwanda in May.

The recognition is in addition to individuals awards of excellence by the Pan African news service’s journalists.

“I would like to urge the African entrepreneurs, business and multinational companies with presence in the continent to clinch deals with the best news service (CAJ News Africa, www.cajnewsafrica.com) in the continent for their own success stories,” said Kwinika.
