DURBAN – BAFANA Bafana beat visiting Guinea Bissau 3-1 in a dull international friendly played at Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban on Saturday.

The host nation grabbed their important goals through penalty spot kick by Kermit Erasmus, hard running Mamelodi Sundowns forward Percy Tau and Andile Jali while Guinea Bissau got their consolation through Aldair Baldé.

Former Sundowns midfielder Keagan Dolly had a brilliant afternoon so as Tau.

Had it not been for the poor shooting upfront, South Africa could have won by a wider margin, but sloppy striking saw Bafana fail to exploit the scoring numerous opportunities created.

However, credit must go to caretaker coach Owen Da Gama for reviving Bafana’s fading hopes of becoming one of the soccer powerhouses of southern Africa.

Line-ups
BAFANA BAFANA:
Khune, Mphahlele, Hlatshwayo, Mathoho, Langerman, Dolly, Mokotjo, Furman, Zwane, Serero, Erasmus.

GUINEA BISSAU:
Mabaye, Rudinilson, Soares Dabo, Lopes, Da Silva, Camara, Mendes Soares, Marinho Soares, Brito, Agostinho, Piqueti.
