JOHANNESBURG – BRITISH Airways (BA) has started four new weekly services between the United Kingdom and South Africa.
The service between London and Johannesburg increases the number of direct flights between the cities to 18 a week.
British Airways has also opened a new route from London to Durban and will offer three weekly services.
It is also increasing its daily winter Cape Town schedule to provide double-daily summer flights from London Heathrow as well as introducing three weekly flights between Gatwick and the Mother City next month.
This makes it 38 flights a week to the three South African destinations.
“In total, we’ll be operating our largest schedule ever between the UK and South Africa,” said Sue Petrie, British Airways Commercial Manager for Southern Africa.
The schedule increase comes as British Airways rolls out a £4,5 billion (R83,8 billion), five-year customer investment plan.
