JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE South African Sports Hall of Fame (SHOF) has received a major boost after an electronics company announced it had taken up the sponsorship of the initiative.

The firm will be an exclusive brand partner, from December 2015 to December 2016, to this one-of-a-kind, interactive sport museum.

“The Samsung South African Sports Hall of Fame Exhibition will focus on the achievements of extraordinary individuals across all 32 sporting codes in the country,” said says Mike van Lier, Director of Enterprise Business Division, Samsung Electronics South Africa.

“It is a remarkable opportunity for us to show how Samsung technology can be used to enhance and create an interactive experience of this magnitude while recognising the abilities of our talented sports men and women.”

SHOF will be travelling to six cities across the country to celebrate the greatest accomplishments in South African history, through the use of innovative technology.

It is hoped the initiative will fulfill the much needed requirement of recognising the country’s remarkable sports people, most who have endured to reach the pinnacle of their respective sports disciplines.

The country has produced world champions in a number of sporting codes.
