PRETORIA – HECKLED by the African National Congress (ANC) councilors in his maiden speech as the new mayor of the City of Tshwane, politica lanalysts are predicting that Solly Msimanga is likely to a rough ride during his five year tenure as the mayor of the capital city.
The heckling began to look like the first warning shots of more to come,as it was followed by a nightmarish first day in the office, last Sunday when there was power outage in the township of Soshanguve .
The Democratic Alliance (DA) city father immediately pointed to“deliberate acts of sabotage,” and social experts have warned Msimanga that the worst is yet to come.
David van Wyk, a senior researcher at Bench-Marks Foundation says: “Ithink the Tshwane mayor will have a torrid time in office because the ANC’s policies and that of the DA are at variance. The ruling party is onthe left while DA is on the right.
