JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – A 17-member panel has been established to adjudicate the second MTN Women in ICT – Partnership for Change Awards.
The panel consisting of members of the media, academia, business world,ICT professionals and staff from the mobile network company, will be tasked with reviewing hundreds of entries submitted since the nomination period opened last month.
The adjudication process will take place between August 18 and 20 before the winners in each of the ten categories are announced at a gala event to be held on August 31.
Graham de Vries, Executive: Corporate Services at MTN SA, expressed pleasure with the calibre of the adjudication panel.
“The panel has got its work cut out for them, considering the quality of the nominations submitted. I wish to thank the judges for volunteering their time and services towards this worthy cause,” de Vries said.
This initiative seeks to accelerate women’s participation in the ICT sector by celebrating and rewarding women professionals who have made a significant contribution towards the growth and development of the sector.
In doing so, the initiative also aims to attract and encourage girl children and young aspirant female professionals to consider a profession in the industry, and enhance the industry’s employer value proposition.
