orlando-stadiumJOHANNESBURG – AT least 300 aspiring artists have submitted their clips with the hope to be nominated for a once in a lifetime chance to perform an opening act at the much-awaited #FillUpOrlandoStadium festival to be held on October 29 2016.

Hip-hop sensation, Cassper Nyovest will be the headline act at this musical extravaganza which is expected to attract over 40 000 revelers at the historic Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

The MTN Light Up the Stage competition invites aspirant artists and DJs who are not signed to any record label to share their sound clips and stand the chance to be curtain raisers for Cassper at the Fill Up Orlando Stadium concert.

Cassper will select the top 10 artists between 10 and 11 October who will join him on a roadshow and perform live in front of audiences on a roadshow that will take place on 14, 15 and 16 October 2016. Members of the public will get an opportunity to choose their favourite acts between 12 and 19 October 2016, and Cassper will select the final two winners on 21 October 2016.

Says Larry Annetts, Chief Consumer Officer: MTN South Africa. “I had the opportunity to sample some of the clips and I was bowled over by the quality of the submissions we have received. We are humbled by the depth of musical talent we have in this country, and I am gratified that this competition may unearth another musical sensation. Bring on those clips and let South Africa know what you are made of, who knows, this may be the big break that you have been waiting for,” Annetts concludes.
